Biography
Born in Morgan City, Louisiana into a Coast Guard family, Makenli Essert has lived in various states all throughout the coastal United States. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in both Cultural Anthropology and Sociology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She then lived and worked abroad for two years before returning to the USA to complete her Juris Doctorate degree at the University of Mississippi.
Makenli worked for two years as an attorney advisor for Small Business Administration, helping private citizens and small business owners acquire federal loans to recover from COVID and weather-related disasters. She then transitioned briefly into personal injury law at the Morris Bart law firm, before happily joining the family at Cossich, Sumich, Parsiola & Taylor, LLC.
